PSA Connections - CEO Owner, Valarie Roy
Valarie received her B.S. in Psychology from LSU Shreveport and an MA I/O Psychology from Louisiana Tech. Dwayne graduated from Centenary College in Shreveport with a B.S in Business Administration and an MA in Aviation Management/Operations from Embry Riddle University in Daytona Beach Florida. Valarie began her career in the healthcare industry (17 years in Nursing in hospitals and LTC facilities) before switching her focus to the field of Industrial/Organizational Psychology (HR/Training/Business Psychology and has remained in that field over the last 22 years. Valarie wears several Training hats but is the primary trainer for our Healthcare Division and trains on several soft skill courses. She is also a National Educator for Alzheimer’s Dementia Certification.
Dwayne began his USAF career as an aircraft mechanic specialist on the C-5, C-141, C-130, and the B-52 during his 20 years as a TSGT active duty and 10 years as a Air Reserve Technician in the USAF Reserves. Dwayne is also a Veteran of the Gulf War and several other military campaigns while on duty. Upon retirement from the USAF Dwayne worked in the Finance and Banking world before he came to work with PSA in 2011. Dwayne joined the PSA team as the company CFO and also wears a Trainer’s hat as our OSHA 501 Certified Trainer, AHA Certified Trainer, and Certified Trainer/Proctor for Serve Safe.
In August of 2007, Valarie purchased PSA, an existing company in Shreveport (since 2004) where she was the Director of Training and Grant Management to assist others with improving the work experience for their employees utilizing her healthcare experience and knowledge of Louisiana Workforce practices. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to include other industries and disciplines under the PSA scope of training. PSA has four main training divisions: Healthcare, General Business, Hospitality, and Safety.
Since 2007, PSA has created over 80 customized and 20 small business Incumbent Worker Training Grants for Louisiana employers worth over 30 million dollars. As of 2021, PSA has been in business successfully over 14 years and we are looking forward to reach one day our 25th “silver anniversary” when we get to 2032.
The PSA team has built a solid foundation for our company and has expanded quality and engaging training from an ever growing staff of industry experienced professionals who have varying degrees of both practical experience and formal education.
